Woodward House Photographs 1994.

Mrs. J. Claude Bennett began a remodeling project of Woodward House after her husband assumed the presidency of UAB in October 1993. These photographs document the interior of Woodward House after the remodeling project was complete. Images document the downstairs, formal living areas including the entry hall, drawing room, library, main dining room, and family dining room. Additional photographs record the interior of the upstairs corridors, bedrooms, closets, and bathrooms.

The Office of President of UAB was established in 1969 when the University of Alabama in Birmingham became an autonomous institution within the framework of the University of Alabama System. Dr. J. Claude Bennett became the fourth president of UAB on October 1, 1993. The president of UAB resides at Woodward House atop Red Mountain in Birmingham.
